Emergency Action Plan to complete the season – League Regulation 15

In light of the poor weather we have experienced recently, we are giving notice of the introduction of League Regulation 15 which sets out how the Winter season will be concluded. Please read and make sure you understand it.

Wherever possible, league/cup games should take priority over any friendly games if there is likely to be a pitch issue.

Reminder – Matches cancelled in December

Reminder of the League Regulation 14

Postponement of a Winter season fixture – When a home team cancels a Winter league fixture, the YEL reserves the right to reverse the fixture, should it be rearranged. First cancellations will cease to be available from December 1st. Any match cancelled from December 1st onwards will be treated as an on the day cancellation and will be referred to the YEL Discipline Team

Fixture update

U7 & U8 January & February Groups will be announced next week. Teams need to be FULLY registered with the league inc standard provided and have players registered by Wed 6th December. This is the last intake of teams for this season. Work will start Thurs 7 December.

U9 & U10 – Cup seedings have been announced and the draws will be made next week and extra friendly matches arranged. Work will hopefully be concluded Mon/Tues.

U11 to U14 –The Spring divisions will be announced from Mon 11 December and will be based on the league tables at that time. A small number of Winter Fixtures will still be outstanding, but the majority of teams have completed the season and Clubs will need fixtures asap to be able to plan the New Year. We strongly advise that any fixtures 9/10 Dec are played later in the morning for the best possible chance of avoiding frost. It’s likely some Winter Fixtures may still be played 16/17 Dec or even 6/7 Jan but the Spring leagues will be done 11 December based on th tables at the time. It is possible a team could finish Runners Up but not move up due to the table as of 11 Dec (more info will be announced later)

Player transfers and registrations

Reminder:

1/ Before any transfer can be actioned via the WGS the registering club secretary needs to action a Notice of Approach if the player is already signed to a club/team.

The approaching club secretary should submit a 7-day notice of approach to the served club secretary to make it clear that they would like to approach/complete the transfer of a player.

This is not completed from within The FA’s player registration framework. This can be done through an email or an instant message, to the players current club. Proof of the approach should be retained if a league or county FA need to investigate the grounds of the approach.

The served club can curtail the 7-day period if they agree to ‘waive’ the notice period. This means that, rather than waiting for the full 7 days to pass, the player’s current club can allow an approach to be made immediately. We would advise that you keep an audit trail should a discrepancy occur.

After the 7 days has passed, or the notice of approach has been waived, clubs can begin the transfer process.

2/ When transferring a player, be mindful of the league’s rules and regulations – check a players eligibility to play in certain fixture. The players eligibility depends on the fixture being played.

No player shall play for more than one Saturday team and one Sunday team in the same age group in any of the knockout competitions in the same season.

Please see www.yelonline.com Rules and Regulations

3/ The league will only guarantee that all eligible pending player registrations/transfers will be looked at/actioned provided they are submitted before 12 noon each Friday.
