Non grass pitches – Can you use it or not?

Whilst we really appreciate the effort everyone has made to get games played over recent weeks when the weather has intervened, we have to remind you that affiliated football ie YEL organised games – can only take place on artificial surfaces where the venue is on The FA pitch register. If it is not, then the venue cannot be used. Training is completely different – you can train wherever you like. This is an FA rule and as an affiliated league, we have to abide by it. To help make sure you stay compliant, here is the link to the FA pitch register website

https://footballfoundation.org.uk/3g-pitch-register

If you have any queries on the day, ring the YEL Gameday hotline 07510 305354 – available 9.30am to 12.30pm

Any games that are found to have been played on a non registered surface will have to be referred to the YEL Discipline team.

Confirming kick off times

We have been made by a number of teams that home teams are not confirming the details of the game five days prior to the game. There have also been last minute changes to kick off times especially at U7s/U8s level which is totally unfair on the opposition.

Can everyone please ensure that they follow the rule and ensure that full details of the kick off time and venue are confirmed with your opposition in good time.

Transfer/Player registration deadline

REMINDER: As per YEL rules 18(I) A Player may not be registered for a Club nor transferred to another Club in the Competition after 16th March except by special permission of the Management Committee.

If you are looking to sign/register an additional player/s the transfer/registration must be completed by 16th March.

Ramadan 2024

We are a very diverse league with players from a range of cultural backgrounds. Sport and culture have to try and work in harmony for the benefit of all participants. We realise that some of our players (mainly U13s/U14s) will be observing Ramadan from Mon 11th March to Tues 9th April. There are Cup games scheduled during this period which need to be played in order for the competition to stay on track for the finals in May. If any team doesn’t have sufficient players to field a team during this period, you should contact the YEL Office now – yel@live.co.uk – so we can try and find a solution. There’s no guarantee we can but we’ll do our best.
