YEL Update 17/09/21

This Update covers FOUR really important messages which must be read and understood please

Player Registrations – general

FA MatchDay app – DO NOT USE FOR MATCH RESULTS

ID cards, Team sheets and Match Returns are back from Sat 18th September

Fixtures UPDATE

Player Registrations – general

All age groups – We are still aware that some teams have outstanding players to be registered. It is absolutely clear under FA rules that UNREGISTERED PLAYERS CANNOT PLAY organised football. If you are having registration issues, you must contact the County FA (copying in the YEL) for guidance and assistance. Any team found to be playing an unregistered player will be referred to the YEL Discipline Team with the following potential consequences (not exhaustive list) – fine, game awarded to the opposition, match replayed etc.

If you are in any doubt as to whether one of your players is registered to play or not, follow the

instructions below:

  1. Enter FT on the public facing site – link is https://fulltime.thefa.com/home/index.html
  2. Use the search for league box – type in ‘YEL’ and select your league/playing day – sat or sun
  3. The page will default to U14 – click on age group search and select your age group
  4. Scroll down the full list of teams that appears and find your team – click on your team
  5. Click on the ‘Players’ box on the right hand side which will show all of the players on your team

who are registered and eligible to play – no other players can be selected unless added to player reg system, uploaded to the league and approved by the league. These then transfer across automatically.

FA MatchDay app – DO NOT USE FOR MATCH RESULTS

There are still ongoing issues with MatchDay app which we are still discussing with The FA. At the moment it is producing inaccurate results into Full-Time ie stating that the game is ‘latest score’ rather than result despite teams entering the results via SMS text – it is, for some reason, overwriting them. The FA have accepted this is an issue when we highlighted it to them and they have recommended our clubs don’t use it whilst they fix the problem.

The YEL recommend the score is entered by SMS text and DO NOT leave the fixture open and LIVE as this can make it a latest score and therefore missing on YEL result download

PLEASE TRY TO GET RESULTS IN TO THE YEL AS SOON AS THE MATCH IS FINISHED VIA SMS TEXT OR BY LOGGING INTO FULL-TIME

ID checks, Team sheets and match returns are back from Sat 18th September

ID Checks – Please download your squad list of REGISTERED players from WGS onto either a hard copy (recommended in case of poor signal) and/or onto your device so that ID checks can be completed prior to the start of the game. How to download a squad list can be found here – https://grassrootstechnology.thefa.com/support/solutions/articles/48001146406-download-a-squad-list

Full details of this mandatory requirement and the sanctions for non completion can be found in YEL Regulations under the rules section on YELonline.com – The main points are This applies to all YEL organsied fixtures – friendlies, league and cup; You can only play players who are shown as registered on the FA ID squad list; both team managers must check each other’s players; absolutely not acceptable not to do it; NO ID CHECK = NO YEL GAME (you can decide to play a friendly outside of the YEL but the actual result will not count as a league fixture and will be referred to the YEL Discipline Team).

Team sheets – If a referee has been appointed by the league, you must hand a team sheet to him/her detailing the players starting and the subs, 15 minutes before the start of the game.

Match returns (mandatory for U9s to U14s) – must be completed by logging into Full-Time and uploading the referee mark, respect marks and players taking part. If you choose to use MatchDay app to complete this process, you must log into Full-Time to ensure that the information has gone across. We all know there are issues with MatchDay so we won’t accept ‘I did it on MatchDay’ as a valid reason for why it is not on Full-Time.

September amnesty – As usual, no fines will be issued for failing to complete/upload a match return by Tuesday evening following the games during September although please get into the habit as soon as possible to avoid any issues for your team from October onwards. If you are unsure how to complete a match return, visit YELonline.com – Useful Information for Managers and Coaches – click on read more – select ‘Basic Managers Guide to the day to day running of the YEL’ and download the information.

Fixtures UPDATE

U7s now updated with five more matches per team and a festival invite.

U8-U10 Next two matches have been reviewed and next review will be Monday 27th September.

U11-U14 We have moved around 40 teams into new divisions in time foe the competitive season starting at the weekend. We haven’t managed to please everyone but we are probably the only league in the country doing this. No further changes will now be possible. Cups will be seeded in late October.

Any issues with fixtures, please use ‘Contact the YEL’ button on Scoreline or email the YEL Office – yel@live.co.uk – with team name, age and division. No responses will be given to attempted contact via social media or private text message.
