NOTTS FA LEAGUE OF THE YEAR 2023!!

Hot off the press….news just in… YEL East Midlands has been recognised by Notts FA by being awarded the

Nottinghamshire FA
‘LEAGUE OF THE YEAR’

We are absolutely delighted not just for the YEL team but also of our clubs, their coaches, players and parents as without your involvement and us all working together to put smiles on 17,000 players faces each weekend we would not be where we are today – Nottinghamshire FA League of the Year.

Reminder: YEL AGM – Thurs 22nd June 8pm

The YEL AGM takes place online on Thursday 22nd June at 8pm. Reminder this is a mandatory meeting where each member club is required to send a representative (Preferably a club official as you will be asked to vote on various motions already sent out). Any club failing to send a representative will be automatically fined £50.

Notice of the meeting has already been sent out. A link to the meeting will follow early next week.

England Accreditation requirement for YEL membership

As mentioned in a number of recent YEL updates and emails sent to all club secretaries by the league, any club that has been in existence for 12 months or more and does not hold an England Accreditation will not be voted in/have their membership renewed at the AGM and therefore their teams will not be permitted to play in the YEL season 2023/4 (See YEL Regulations 1) – brand new clubs have a 12 month grace period.

Our new 2023-24 Regulations state that the only exception to the above will be receipt of an email by the YEL Office prior to the AGM, sent from the CFA (NOT the member club – must be CFA) explaining what the delay is and when it is likely to be remedied and the Accreditation approved. Each case will then be considered separately by the YEL Board and a decision issued within 7 (seven) days of the AGM. Any decision to allow a club to join may be conditional/under licence. Any conditions set by the league will need to be adhered to in order for the membership to continue whilst the process to complete the England Accreditation is in progress.

We are currently contacting all County FAs – Notts, Derbys, Lincs and Leics to check on YEL Club’s England Accreditation status. If you are a club that has been in existence for longer than 12 months and haven’t yet received your England Accreditation, you need to act now and contact your CFA to get them to email us with the details above so a decision can be made on your involvement.

If you do not have England Accreditation and no email is received from your CFA to support your case by the AGM (Thursday 22nd June), your application to join the league/renewal of membership will be declined and the club removed.

Cup finals May 2024 – Interested in hosting?

Each year we hold our YEL Cup Finals in May. In 2024, the finals will be held on the weekend of 11/12 & 18/19 May.

Over the last couple of years our finals have been hosted by Clifton AW, Bottesford FC, Ilkeston Town FC & Carlton Town FC and have been a tremendous success in terms of the football played, the quality of the pitches, the layout of the venue and, of course, financially for the host clubs.

We are particularly aware that other clubs may be interested in hosting the cup finals. We would be delighted to receive expressions of interest from any clubs who would like to be considered.

Criteria which are important:

  • MUST have pitches available on the two May weekends above
  • Must be a fully enclosed ground so that entrances can be staffed
  • For 7v7 & 9v9 finals, it is essential to have four pitches
  • For 11v11 finals, must be an enclosed stadium style ground with an 11v11 pitch capable of providing back to back games from 10am to 5pm
  • Must have sufficient onsite parking to accommodate up to 200 cars – we don’t want to upset neighbouring properties with on street parking
  • must have a clubhouse close to the pitches

We would be interested in receiving enquiries from around the YEL region – including Derbyshire, North Leicestershire & North Nottinghamshire.

If you would like to be considered, please email the YEL Office yel@live.co.uk – no later than 5pm Friday 30th June and attach a google map image showing the layout of your ground.

New photos for 2023-24

U11 & U12 are the only age groups where ALL players will require new photographs to be able to register for the 2023-24 season.
U7s & U8 are not affected.
U9, U10, U13 & U14 will only need a new photograph if the image being used was uploaded BEFORE May 31st 2020.

For an image to be accepted by the YEL, it needs to be a good quality passport style head and shoulders only image – see image – NOT a ‘distance photo where the image of the player is very small.

Player registrations for 2023-24 – online consent only and parents/carers mobile number requirement

Offline consent has been removed as an option from the 2023-24 registration process. All player registrations will now require online consent. Also, all parent/carer information on Whole Game System must carry a mobile phone number.
