Safeguarding and child welfare – reminder of FA requirements for teams/coaches

Not that anyone should need reminding… however it has come to light recently that there are some teams playing in the YEL who are being taken for training and on match days by coaches who do not hold a valid DBS or any FA safeguarding certification. DBS checks are required for ‘anyone involved in managing, training, coaching and supervising.’ If any club is ‘turning a blind eye’ to this and we are made aware of it, they will be immediately reported to the County FA and the league will take action in conjunction with the CFA to remove fixtures from the whole club until the minimum FA requirements are met for ALL of their teams. We cannot underline how important these requirements are for the safety of the children. They are not optional and we will enforce the FA requirements to the limit of our powers.

Failing to update Full-Time with Kick off changes – League Regulation 5

There are an increasing number of teams who are failing to notify the YEL Office of changes in kick off times so FullTime can be updated. Full-Time needs to display the correct information for ALL YEL organised U7-U14 games – league, friendlies or cup. This is especially important when sending out our Respect Field Officers and appointing referees to games. It is the responsibility of the home team to ensure that the kick off time on Full-Time is correct. Any home team that is found to have not updated the YEL Office by email with a change in kick off time as soon as they are aware of it, will be charged and fined under League Regulation 5.

Excess players registered?

REMINDER: The YEL Rules and Regulations set maximum squad size limits. This is double the number of players in a team at the different formats. 7v7 – max 14 players; 9v9 – max 18 players; 11v11 – max 22 players. Any team found to have more than the maximum number of players registered on Whole Game System will be charged with breach of the rules.
