Cup competition rules inc ID checks, cancellations & cup tied players
Cancellations – Any non weather related cup cancellations will be referred to the YEL Discipline team. Please be aware – it is highly likely that the game will be awarded to the opposition in these instances.
Cup tied players – Any player who has played in a previous round for another team in the same age group and playing day cannot play for another team in the same age group cup competition as they will be cup tied and therefore ineligible. Any team found to have played an ineligible player will be removed from the competition. Please check and make sure you do not fall foul of this rule.
Cup Rules & ID Checks – Please ensure you have read and understand the cup rules – YELonline.com -under rules and regulations. Any game which is level at the end of normal time will go to extra time. If the scores are still level at the end of extra time, five penalties will be taken by each team. If the scores are still level after five penalties have been taken, you go to sudden death until a winner is found. Only players on the pitch at the end of extra time are eligible to take penalties and no player can take a second penalty until all players on the pitch have taken their first penalty. ID checks are particularly important and must be carried out to ensure only eligible players take part.
Transfer/registration deadline -tomorrow!
REMINDER: As per YEL rules 18(I) A Player may not be registered for a Club nor transferred to another Club in the Competition after 16th March except by special permission of the Management Committee.
If you are looking to sign/register an additional player/s the transfer/registration must be completed by tomorrow (16th March).
Non grass pitches – Can you use it or not?
Whilst we really appreciate the effort everyone has made to get games played over recent weeks when the weather has intervened, we have to remind you that affiliated football ie YEL organised games – can only take place on artificial surfaces where the venue is on The FA pitch register. If it is not, then the venue cannot be used. Training is completely different – you can train wherever you like. This is an FA rule and as an affiliated league, we have to abide by it. To help make sure you stay compliant, here is the link to the FA pitch register website

Tournaments & Festivals –permission required
Teams cannot enter another compeittion, festival or tournament which takes place during the season up to and including 31st May without the permission of the league.

Confirming kick off times
We have been made aware by a number of teams that home teams are not confirming the details of the game five days prior to the game. There have also been last minute changes to kick off times especially at U7s/U8s level which is totally unfair on the opposition.
Can everyone please ensure that they follow the rule and ensure that full details of the kick off time and venue are confirmed with your opposition in good time.
