WGS Player registration downtime – YEL extend player reg/transfer deadline to April 16th

The national FA have announced a new platform to eventually replace WGS. First part of the process is migrating player registrations onto this new platform. To do this The FA need to take down Player reg from WGS for seven days starting 10th March. No one will be able to access the system – add/remove/update players during this period. The downtime cuts right across the player reg/transfer deadline day. YEL have decided to push back the 2020/21 season player reg/transfer deadline day to 16th April 2021 in light of this FA WGS downtime and COVID issues of not being able to return to football until 29th March.

Facebook and Twitter! – advertise tournaments for YEL clubs

The YEL facebook page is very well known with over 10,000 members. Its little brother  – @YELNottm – on twitter is less well known. Social media is a very important tool for us to be able to interact with our members and get information out smooth and efficiently. Follow @YELNottm to ensure you don’t miss out on urgent info – not everyone uses Facebook! Share the posts, retweet the tweets – get the YEL message out to all of your friends and contacts.

Clubs – Got a tournament coming up? Need to attract some additional teams? Get it advertised via YEL Facebook page and @YELNottm twitter. Post directly onto Facebook page. Make sure you are following @YELNottm and we’ll follow you back to ensure your message gets out there.

Scoreline data – Reminder of GDPR rules Re: use of data

As a league, we take data protection very seriously. To remind everyone, the information held on Scoreline cannot be accessed/used by third parties without the explicit permission of the data owner – YEL. We would then be obliged to ask the individual if they were happy for they contact information to be shared. Scoreline is a password protected platform and the information within it should only be used by members for the conducting day to day YEL business – eg confirming the details of a YEL organised match with an opposition manager; Contacting a referee regarding a YEL organised match; Contacting a club official regarding a league matter; Conducting league business with the YEL Office/team; Any other specific YEL related matter. Anyone found to be using the data for any other purposes, without the permission of the data owner, will be reported to the relevant authorities for potential breach of GDPR rules and regulations.

Return to football March 29th – Awaiting FA guidance

We are all aware of Boris’s roadmap which he set out at the end of February. March 29th is the date set for the ‘return to football’ subject to any unforeseen circumstances. We have made extensive plans and completed the fixtures for over 3000 Spring season games. We are all ready to go. We are only waiting now for the guidance from The FA which will show us what the return to football will look like. Are there any exemptions; Is there specific guidance on numbers of spectators; Can changing rooms open etc etc. At the moment, we just don’t know. As soon as the guidance is out, we will post it on YEL Facebook page, Upload it onto YELonline.com and tweet it via Twitter.

YEL Community Fund deadline extended to April 16th

The YEL Community Fund panel met for the first time recently and one of the first decisions taken was to extend the deadline of this current funding period (Period 4), to April 16th. This is a very sensible decision bearing on mind that football cannot open up again until 29th March at the earliest which was just two days before the old deadline. Applications are coming in steadily so have you have a project or cause which has a direct connection to your club which you want to support, get your application in now! Applications are made via Scoreline and can only be submitted by club officials – Chair, Treasurer, Secretary or Welfare Officer.
