COVID – Policy

Player Registrations – general

All age groups – All players should now be fully registered. Anyone with ongoing problems should email their CFA and copy in the YEL Office – yel@live.co.uk It is absolutely clear under FA rules that UNREGISTERED PLAYERS CANNOT PLAY organised football. Any team found to be playing an unregistered player will be referred to the YEL Discipline Team with the following potential consequences (not exhaustive list) – fine, game awarded to the opposition, match replayed etc.

If you are in any doubt as to whether one of your players is registered to play or not, follow the

instructions below:

  1. Enter FT on the public facing site – link is https://fulltime.thefa.com/home/index.html
  2. Use the search for league box – type in ‘YEL’ and select your league/playing day – sat or sun
  3. The page will default to U14 – click on age group search and select your age group
  4. Scroll down the full list of teams that appears and find your team – click on your team
  5. Click on the ‘Players’ box on the right hand side which will show all of the players on your team

who are registered and eligible to play – no other players can be selected unless added to player reg system, uploaded to the league and approved by the league. These then transfer across automatically.

FA MatchDay app – DO NOT USE FOR MATCH RESULTS/MATCH RETURNS

Despite numerous reminders we are still receiving reports that people are using the MatchDay app to complete match returns and not checking Full-Time to ensure that the information has gone through. Fines will be applied from this weekend on any games U9-U14 games where a match return hasn’t been completed.

The YEL recommends the score is entered by SMS text and match returns are completed by logging into Full-Time.

PLEASE GET RESULTS IN TO THE YEL AS SOON AS THE MATCH IS FINISHED VIA SMS TEXT AND COMPLETE THE MATCH RETURN BY LOGGING INTO FULL-TIME

Can all club secretaries please get this message out to your managers.

ID checks & Team sheets are now back

ID Checks – Please download your squad list of REGISTERED players from WGS onto either a hard copy (recommended in case of poor signal) and/or onto your device so that ID checks can be completed prior to the start of the game. How to download a squad list can be found here – https://grassrootstechnology.thefa.com/support/solutions/articles/48001146406-download-a-squad-list

Full details of this mandatory requirement and the sanctions for non completion can be found in YEL Regulations under the rules section on YELonline.com – The main points are This applies to all YEL organsied fixtures – friendlies, league and cup; You can only play players who are shown as registered on the FA ID squad list; both team managers must check each other’s players; absolutely not acceptable not to do it; NO ID CHECK = NO YEL GAME (you can decide to play a friendly outside of the YEL but the actual result will not count as a league fixture and will be referred to the YEL Discipline Team).

Team sheets – If a referee has been appointed by the league, you must hand a team sheet to him/her detailing the players starting and the subs, 15 minutes before the start of the game. Team sheets are available to download on YELonline.com under ‘Useful information for managers and coaches’ – Download a YEL Team sheet – on the home page.

September amnesty ends tonight – !st October – Fines will be issued for failing to complete/upload a match return by Tuesday evening following the games from now on. If you are unsure how to complete a match return, visit YELonline.com – Useful Information for Managers and Coaches – click on read more – select ‘Basic Managers Guide to the day to day running of the YEL’ and download the information.

Referees

Get your older players/parents qualified! – The referee shortage is not getting any better. We would strongly recommend you speak to your older players (14+) and ask them to take a referees course to help referee your young age group teams. We are more than happy to use your referees on your games only. One club has done this very successfully and has five of their own players covering virtually all of their home games. You too could be in this fortunate position. Ask around your older players and see who is interested.

Stagger kick off times – Teams and clubs that help us by staggering kick off times are helping us and therefore helping themselves. We appoint double games first so if you have a 10am mini soccer game followed by a 11am 9v9/11v11 we will do our best to appoint one referee to both games. 25 Referees are covering 50 games between them this weekend. What is very frustrating is having a 11v11 game at 10am and then another one at the same venue at 11am. If one game kicked off 30 mins before or after, one referee could do both games. Appreciate it is not always possible but please help yourselves by staggering the kick off times. We will do our very best to look after those clubs first, where we can.

COVID – Policy

We are following the current government/Public Health England/general schools policy. Any player who has a positive test for COVID should self isolate for the required period. The rest of the team can continue training and playing matches. Matches should not be cancelled if there are sufficient players in the squad to play the game. See minimum number of players required for a match to take place in YEL Rules which can be found on YELonline.com
