YEL Update – 23rd January 2026

Here are the FOUR YEL updates for this week:

  • Respect & Safeguarding Update
  • Respect Field Officers Volunteers
  • Fixtures
  • Cancellations

Respect & Safeguarding Update

Thank you to the many clubs, coaches, referees, volunteers and parents who continue to create positive matchday environments for our young players.
The Young Elizabethan League supports the FA Respect Programme and reminds everyone that:

  • Coaches should remain in technical areas
  • Parents and spectators should stay behind the Respect barrier
  • The field of play should not be entered
  • Referees should not be challenged at any time

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Please ensure your club has a named Club Welfare Officer and knows how to report concerns through FA safeguarding routes. If you’re unsure, it’s always okay to ask.

We are looking for volunteers – Respect Field Officers

The YEL are looking for volunteer Respect Field Officers (RFOs) to help promote positive, respectful matchday environments.

RFOs support the FA Respect Programme by being a calm, visible presence and offering friendly reminders around touchline behaviour. This is a supportive role, not an enforcement one.

  • Open to parents, volunteers and club officials
  • No experience required – guidance provided
  • Flexible, occasional commitment
  • £10 per fixture to help cover travel costs

If you’d like to help keep youth football safe, respectful and enjoyable, please fill out our volunteer form.
