| We have been asked to clarify the rules around postponing friendly games.
Provided this is done in a timely fashion, there are no fines or matches awarded for cancelling friendly games. ALL U7/U8 fixtures are friendly games. U9-U10s only play, 10 league games plus cup matches from September to May; the rest are friendlies. U11s to U14s play less friendlies and more league and cup fixtures.
On a separate note, fines do not relate to weather related cancellations/postponements. We take safeguarding/welfare very seriously and this should be an important consideration for all parents and coaches who should ensure the players – on field and substitutes – are suitably dressed to ensure their wellbeing. It should be remembered that football is a winter sport but if the pitch is unplayable – waterlogged, frozen, snow etc or the weather is so severe – like the storms we have experienced recently – appropriate decisions should be made by the coaches. |
