Office Closed – Monday June 17th to Tuesday June 25th

The YEL Office will be closed from Monday 17th June until Tuesday 25th June. Emails will be monitored and responded to where possible. Anything related to new teams, Clubs etc will need to wait until John returns as it is essential that he deals with these to avoid any possible confusion.

League Player Registrations not available until Wednesday 3rd July

REGISTERING PLAYERS FOR 2024-25 SEASON – Please DO NOT try to submit players to the league until July 3rd. At this stage you should just be registering the players to your club. Any players that are submitted to the league before July 3rd will be rejected as Whole Game System is not fully updated until then and there is no guarantee currently that players will attach to the correct team.

Reminder of new 2024-25 League Regulations

This has been part of FA Safeguarding policy for a number of years. Our parent County FA is now keen to underline this hence it being added to our League Regs. As a league we endorse it and fully support it.

Every team playing affiliated football must have TWO qualified coaches at ALL football activities – training and matches. This mandatory FA requirement is being incorporated into our League Regulations 2024-25. This is a safeguarding requirement to protect both players and coaches. The League Regulation will state:

League Regulation 1(iv) Coach/Manager requirements for a registered YEL team
As part of the YEL’s parent County FA rules, each team playing in the YEL must have two coaches with in-date qualifications registered to the team on Club Portal who should be present at YEL organised matches and all training activities. Qualifications required to be compliant:

Coach one: must hold ALL of the following:

• In-date accepted DBS
• FA Level 1 / Introduction to Coaching Football (I2CF) Qualification (Min)
• In-date Safeguarding Children Course / Recertification
• In-date Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF)

Coach two: must hold a minimum of the following:

• In-date accepted DBS
• In-date Safeguarding Children Course / Recertification
• In-date Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) OR In-date FA Sudden Cardiac Arrest Module & In-date FA Concussion Module

It is advisable for the team to have a parent with an in date DBS and Safeguarding Children certificate who can stand in (don’t need to actively take part in the training session/coaching on game day) should one of the coaches be unavailable rather than cancelling a game or training session.

Team names for 2024-25 season

If you enter two or more teams at the same age group playing on the same day, it is essential that both teams have a distinguishing name/colour after them. We cannot accept just a club name for one team and a colour/name for another.

Eg YEL United FC U12 and YEL United FC U12 Red – no longer acceptable.

Examples of what are acceptable YEL Utd U12 Blue & YEL Utd U12 Red or YEL United U12 Warriors & YEL United U12 Trojans
