Confirming kick off times and updating Full-Time

We have been made aware by a number of teams that home teams are not confirming the details of the game five days prior to the game. There have also been last minute changes to kick off times especially at U7s/U8s level which is totally unfair on the opposition.

Can everyone please ensure they follow the rule and ensure that full details of the kick off time and venue are confirmed with your opposition in good time. Any amendments to kick off times and/or venues must be emailed to office@yelonline.com so Full-Time can be updated. It is a rule that Full-Time shows the correct info and a fine will be applied if it’s not accurate.

Recruiting YEL Respect Field Officers (RFOs)

Want to help make a difference in grassroots football and help make YEL football a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone on match day? We’re looking to recruit more YEL Respect Field Officers (RFOs) to join our current undercover team. RFOs fulfil a valuable, behind the scenes role. This hidden army of volunteers are the league’s ‘eyes & ears’ at YEL games. Teams do not know they have been present at a game. RFOs don’t get involved in any incidents; They simply observe behaviour of players, spectators & managers and report back to the league. RFOs are assigned games by the league. They are paid expenses of £10 per report completed. RFOs are independent observers and cannot be associated with any participants in a game inc referees. RFOs can report on other games at the venue they are at provided they have no connection to any of the participants. We’re looking for anyone (min age 18) – mums, dads, grans, grandads, carers, refs – anyone who can be objective & blend in. safeguarding@yelonline.com for more details.

Must use YEL referees when appointed

Wherever possible, the YEL appoints referees to U9-U14 games. Clubs/teams don’t have the choice to accept or not if an appointment is made. We’ll do our best to find a ref for all games up until Wednesday evening. Whether you’ve been appointed one or not will be on the automated email from Full-Time sent to the team’s primary contact over the weekend prior to the game. It will state the name of the ref (if one has been appointed) or ‘TBC’ meaning we are looking for one. This will only change if a referee is found or if we have been unsuccessful in which case ‘TBC’ will change to ‘none’ (late Wed evening/early Thurs morning). At this point teams can/need to source their own referee, club official or parent to officiate the game.
