Matchday issues & Respect Cases

Matchdays can be busy and emotional, and we know that concerns can arise despite everyone’s best intentions. We want to reassure clubs that the league is here to support you, and to share how we can work together to respond quickly when issues arise.

Letting us know about Matchday concerns

If a matchday issue or Respect concern comes up, asking your Club Welfare Officer or Club Secretary to raise this via a Respect Case helps ensure it reaches the right people and can be picked up as quickly and sensitively as possible.

Help us respond quickly

We’re aware that a small number of matchday concerns have recently been sent to an old inbox that is no longer monitored, which has meant we haven’t been able to pick them us as quickly as we’d like.

Using the Respect case route or Matchday hotline helps us provide timely support and avoid unsessesary delays.

YEL Matchday Hotline: 07510 305354
(For urgent matchday safeguarding or Respect concerns only)

Working Together

By sharing concerns this way, we can;

  • Offer timely and consistent support
  • Help keep children and young people safe
  • Support volunteers and match officials
  • Promote a positive, respectful Matchday environment
  • Work alongside clubs when challenges arise

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Sharing concerns through the right channels helps keep children and young people safe, supports our volunteers and officials, and promotes a positive and respectful football environment for us all.

Thank you for your continued commitment to safeguarding, respect and positive matchdays across the YEL.

Contacting the referee – please note is it the home teams responsibility to contact the ref asap. If this hasn’t been done the referee is entitled to seek an alternative game. Lets all do our part to look after our referees – clear, timely communication really matters.

Contacting the YEL

Please send all emails to Office@yelonline.com only. Please use a clear subject line (incl age group and playing day, where applicable). This ensures we can deal with issues as promptly as possible, thank you for your support.

Fixtures

Feb Half term fixtures are now all scheduled. Any teams still needing a game, please feel free to reach out to other clubs, contact details available on Scoreline. If we have scheduled a friendly game that you need to postpone, please email the office as usual.
