Don’t let your players down by not completing pre match player ID checks

We can’t emphasise enough the importance of Pre match player ID checks. Failure to do so could result in games being awarded/voided.

For those in any doubt as to what constitutes a player ID check – we recommend the following steps:

• Before leaving for your game, print off a player ID sheet from Whole Game System for your squad
• Prior to the game starting, take your player ID sheet to the opposition manager
• Swap ID sheets with them
• Call the players in. You check off the opposition players names and match them to the images
• Opposition does the same to your players
• Once you are both happy – swap the sheets back and put them away
• The Referee does not need to see the ID sheet.  You should each give any officially appointed referee a team sheet listing the players who are starting (inc shirt numbers) and list those on the bench.

If you have any problems or issues, ring the YEL Hotline on the day for advice07510 305354

Available 9.30am – 12.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Shortage of referees this weekend

YEL Referees appointments have provided the following information for the Update. We are fully aware that there are many ‘last game of the season’ title deciders across the YEL age groups this weekend which is a credit to the grading and ability based divisions of the league. Sadly, we are unable to cover some important games due to the ongoing shortage of referees; the fact that many new referees are only into their 2nd/3rd games and the limited distance they can travel due to their age and not having their own transport. We ask that all teams without referees respect the decisions that stand in club officials/parents make and that those who are officiating do their best to provide a level playing field for the players. Good luck to all of our teams battling it out for honours this weekend.
